Wednesday 23 September

Today we set out westwards.
First we went to Fort Rodd which is one of a series of coastal artilitery fortifications guarding Victoria and the naval base in Esquimalt Harbour and was built between 1895-7. There was quite a lot of naval action going on. This fort is extremely well camouflaged from the water. The first picture shows what could be seen from the water and the second the view from a lookout. The third picture shows what is behind the grass covered rock bank.
