Tuesday 20th Oct

We got up at 3.45 am and left the hotel at 4.15. It was raining. The plane took off at 6.35 and was immediately into cloud and then above it. We caught a glimpse of the Southern Alps and the west coast. After that we were over the Tasman Sea until we reached Sydney in the hot sunshine at 7.40 am, 3 hours later.

After unpacking we decided we needed something to eat because although it was only 10.30 am we had been awake for nearly 9 hours with only the plane breakfast to eat. We bought a Subway 'seafood foot long' and eat it on a bench beside Sydney Cove which is the main harbour and from where we could see the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
