After joining the main north/south road we entered the West Coast Forest Road and spent a lot of the journey going through forests.
At Tullah we crossed Lake Rosebury twice, both the town and the lake were lovely.
After going through Zeehan we finally saw the Southern Ocean.
The road travelled beside the ocean but on the land side of the Henty Dunes. At Henty Dunes picnic site we stopped in the hope of getting to the beach. The dunes were very steep, 30 m, and were covering a lot of the trees and shrubs. We trudged along in the sand until we found a slightly less steep bank which we slithered up. When we reached the top there was a vast area of sand a very long way from the ocean. It was an amazing sight. We semi-slid down a steeper slope.
