We walked with all our luggage two blocks to catch the Hotel Shuttle Bus to the airport. This was a quarter of the price of the taxi when we came into Melbourne.

We arrived at the airport to find that our 10.45 am flight had been cancelled and we were put on the 12.35 pm flight. We tried phoning Cathy but couldn't get an answer (we found out later that we had her old phone number!) We boarded the plane and then someone had a nose bleed so had to leave the plane. It took 45 mins to find and take their luggage off so we didn't take off until 1.20.

Perth is 3 hours behind Melbourne (they don't have daylight saving) so we landed (3.25 hours later) at 2.05. Cathy was waiting for us having eventually managed to find out which flight we were on.

She drove us the scenic way back to her house on the south side of the Swan River.

She has a peppermint tree with a wonderful bark, outside her house.
