We realised that we needed fuel but had to wait until after the Melbourne Cup horse race had finished before the petrol station re-opened! Apparently everything in Australia stops for the race.

We drove to an area where there were 'tall trees' but by the time we got there the wind had become very strong and we felt it was unsafe to walk in a forest. We did, however, see one very tall tree by the car park, if the rest were like this it would have been worth seeing.
