It was minus 2 last night and we left the top window open - it was cold!

We left at 8.30 and headed towards the mountains. They were soon all around us. We were in the Mackenzie Basin.

After Twizel we turned for Mount Cook driving beside Lake Pukaki which is an amazing turquoise colour due to glacial deposits. The water was very cloudy unlike at Glenorchy.
