We arrived at the Maui depot at 10 am and got the van at 11.15. We querried water dripping from underneath as we thought we had a leak in the previous van. We were told that it was from the overflow so stowed our belongings in the van. After doing this we discovered that the water tank was only half full. When they looked at it again they discovered that there was a split in the water tank just above half way. It would be at least 2 hours before we could get a replacement and we would have to transfer all our belongings so decided to take the one we had and they gave us a days rental back. We finally set off at 1 pm.

The snow capped Southern Alps looked wonderful in the sunshine ahead of us but they didn't come out well in photos.
