We then left the coast and were back to lush farm land.

We went through Waipara. There are few cows here but a lot of sheep.

After Rangiora we crossed the Waimakariri River.

We arrived in Christchurch at 6.15 pm ahead of schedule.

We had rain for part of the morning and strong winds. The afternoon was dry with some sunshire. It was only 7 degrees in Christchurch and the locals were all complaining about the weather.
